In the Bosch Automotive Technology division, the Automotive Aftermarket business unit, with 14,000 associates around the world, manages the provision, logistics and sale of automotive spare parts, workshop equipment and Bosch products for retrofitting. Its services also include technical customer service for automotive products and systems.
One of the tasks of the distribution warehouse is to supply Bosch customers - that is, automotive manufacturers' headquarters, wholesalers and workshops - with a wide and diverse range of spare parts, which are shipped from Karlsruhe to 140 different countries. The division also manages a further 24 warehouses around the world.
Since 1978, approximately 450,000 articles from the aftermarket range - from anti-lock braking systems to spark plugs - have been made available to customers using state-of-the-art technology. Roughly 300 associates at the Global Distribution Center in Karlsruhe guarantee that the parts you need will be available within 24 hours in Europe and within 96 hours anywhere in the world.
Bosch workshop network
The Automotive Aftermarket business unit is responsible for the Bosch Service workshop network, the world's largest independent chain of workshops consisting of over 15,000 businesses, 1,200 of them in Germany. Since the acquisition of AutoCrew GmbH on 4/1/2009, with the brands "AutoCrew" and "AutoCrew Truck+Trailer", Karlsruhe has managed another chain of workshops. This workshop network currently covers 500 AutoCrew partners throughout Europe, over 400 in Germany alone.
The Diagnostics unit provides appliances for testing and workshop technology, diagnostic software, service and brand-independent knowledge and training courses for automotive workshops. Bosch trains over 60,000 participants every year in 43 training centers worldwide. The business unit offers retailers and workshops all over the world the entire range of diagnostic and workshop technology, and a comprehensive range of spare parts – from new to reconditioned parts.
The Automotive Tradition unit, which was created in 2005, offers spare parts, information and other services for classic and vintage cars. The online shop www.partbob.com makes sought-after spare parts for these vehicles available to a broad target group, using stocks from wholesalers, car repair firms and workshops.
